You could soon find out what kind of treatment, if any, your elderly relative with Alzheimer's is receiving. Candyce Clifft has that story from Jefferson City...

OutCue: SOC

If a nursing home tells you they will provide special care for your grandmother with Alzheimer's, that may mean they only put her in a different room. Under a bill passed by the House, this information would be availible when you inquire about special care. Bill sponsor, Representative Lana Stokan, says disclosure is necessary since the state doesn't regulate Alzheimer's care...

Actuality:Stokan
RunTime: 10
OutCue: honest about that.
Contents: Stokan says unfortunately, there are facilities that lock the doors of the wing for Alzheimer's patients and call it special care. They can do that, but they should be honest about that.

Stokan says her bill protects families of Alzheimer's patients who are vulnerable to false claims. From the statehouse, I'm Candyce Clifft.
