The House voted to turn license plates into bill boards. Jack Dolan has the story from Jefferson City.

After days of agonizing debate, The Missouri House of Representatives voted to allow the state to print license plates with special emblems and slogans for a very short, select, list of organizations. The list includes veterans of World War II, members of the square dancing federation, and Amateur Radio Operators. The bill's sponsor, John Loudon from St. Louis County, explained how groups can get included on the list.

Contents: Loudon says: "Find yourself and interested state Rep., and we'd create an underpaid journalist's license plate. We can either try to put that on in the Senate this year, or bring it back next year."

If you belong to one of the chosen groups you still have to pay the state fee for personalized plates, plus a twenty-five dollar donation to your group's license plate committee, to get the special plates. From Jefferson City, I'm Jack Dolan.
