Ralston Move Worries St. Louis Lawmakers

Many St. Louis city legislators say St. Louis can't afford to have Ralston Purina company play follow the leader. Mary D. Jackson has the story from the state capitol.

St. Louis lawmakers say the potential move of Ralston Purina Company would be another economic blow to the stability of the city of St. Louis.

Several representatives say St. Louis can't afford to lose another company as large as Ralston Purina.

Representative Pat Dougherty said the loss would be devastating.

Contents: We're not talking about a company that has two or three employees and decides to move that impact would be minor but this would be a major devastating impact if they picked up and left.

Ralston said it would be to the companies economic advantage to stay in St. Louis.
