Missourians are one step closer to getting a tax cut on food. Allison Girvin has the story from Jefferson City.

The House Ways and Means Committee overwhelmingly passed a bill that would cut Missouri sales tax on groceries by three percent.

This bill is co-sponsored by 131 representatives.

Committee Chair Nancy Farmer says the bill is designed to cut back on state revenue which has exceeded the constitutional limit the last two years.
