Missouri is part of a national task force designed to investigate banks that issue credit cards.

Attorney Generals from a dozen states are investigating whether these banks are selling information on credit limits and spending habits to marketing firms.

A representative for Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon met in New York with other state's attorney generals to coordinate efforts for the investigation.

Attorney General Nixon's spokesman Scott Holste says he can't say which banks are being investigated at this time. He says he does not have any indication of how long the investigation will take.
