Hospital gown comfort addressed in the House

Protecting patients' posteriors was the topic of debate today/Tuesday in the Missouri House. Princess Reyes has this story from the state capitol.

Rep. Sam Gaskill says that when he was in the hospital last year, the hospital gown he wore did not give him adequate coverage. He's proposing a bill that would require hospitals to offer dignity gowns that completely cover a patient's body down to their knees.

Contents: Gaskill says that patients don't feel that it is their position to challenge the hospital's routine by asking for a more comfortable gown to wear.
But Daniel Landon of the Missouri Hospital Association doesn't like the idea. He says patients have not complained about the current gowns and requiring hospitals to offer dignity gowns would increase costs.
