The Governor's top aide attended a House hearing today/Wednesday to talk about juvenile sex offenders . Princess Reyes has this report from Jefferson City.

Sex offenders under 21 may need to register with the county juvenile office, if a bill under consideration in the House, passes. Brad Ketcher, the governor's Chief of Staff, came to the hearing to voice the governor's view on this topic.

Contents: Ketcher says that Gov. Mel Carnahan supports this bill because it protects the public by allowing them to have access to the names of these sexual offenders.
If this bill passes, juvenile officers would have to maintain a list of the offenders and state agencies would have to share this information with public entities, such as school officials, on a need to know basis.
