Nearly half of public bodies across the state fail to comply with Missouri's Sunshine Law according to a performance audit report released by Missouri State Auditor Claire McCaskill.

The law outlines the public's right to obtain public information from political subdivisions. However, not all subdivisions are aware of the law.

Kristin Cook, spokeswoman for Missouri State Auditor says the aim of the audit is to raise awareness of the law.
