Governor to veto pension increase for state employees, including lawmakers.

Anchor Intro: Governor Carnahan's relationship with the legislature is in jeopardy after he announced he will veto a pension raise for state employees...including lawmakers. Karyn Dest reports from Jefferson City.

Carnahan sent a letter to the legislature saying he would veto the pension raise....It came as a surprise to many lawmakers...especially democrats who overwhelmingly supported the pension increase.

Columbia Democratic Senator Ken Jacob disagreed with the governor's decision.

Despite support from Senator Jacob and others for it, lawmakers plan to remove the pension increase for themselves from the bill. But, they will send the increase for other state employees to the governor.
