Carnahan to reflect in address

The governor will use his annual State of the State address this morning in Jefferson City to reflect on his time in office. Aaron Cummins has more from the Capitol--

According to his press secretary, Carnahan will use the speech as a way to remind Missourians of what he's done as governor.

Spokesman Jerry Nachtigal says Carnahan also will deal with issues facing this session of the General Assembly.

Those issues include how to use the tobacco settlement money and lowering the alcohol level for drunken driving.

Carnahan will address members of the House and Senate at 10:30 in the House chamber.

Mel Carnahan will use this morning's State of the State address to look back on his time as Missouri's governor. Aaron Cummins has more from Jefferson City--

Carnahan will present his last legislative package as governor to a joint session of the House and Senate at 10:30.

The governor will leave office next January and is running for the U.S. Senate.

Carnahan spokesman Jerry Nachtigal says today's speech will deal with the governor's past and future.

One bill Carnahan has said he wants passed this year would lower the blood alcohol level required for drunk driving.
