House Education Committee Chair Jane Cunningham says a few Missouri School districts have been pocketing money intended for summer school sessions that aren't being held. Schools are now allowed to report enrollment numbers from up to two years ago when asking for funding. Cunningham says some school districts have been using this to inflate their numbers and pocket the extra money, but she says this bill will fix the problem.

Contents: This bill will fix the loophole where schools were able to report past enrollment of summer school to get funding and then not host summer school.

The specific school districts reporting these numbers were not disclosed. No one spoke in opposition of this portion of the bill but this amendment is part of a larger bill concerning state testing, which does face opposition. From the State Capitol, I'm Lindsay Shively.
