Sen. Coleman worries about MOHELA proposal

One St. Louis senator fears the impending sale of MOHELA won't benefit community colleges. Sarah Smithies has more from Jefferson City.

Governor Matt Blunt met with state democratic leaders to discuss the possible sale of MOHELA, the state's non-profit student loan agency Wednesday.

Senate Minority Leader Maida Coleman says she's worried community colleges are being left out.

Although I can't say that I or my fellow democrats will support the plan, I do feel that if there is going to be a sale of MOHELA, if that indeed does happen, that there should certainly be some consideration for the community colleges.

Documents circulated by democratic leaders show 300 million dollars of revenue from the sale would go toward capital improvements, all at state universities and colleges. From the state capitol, I'm Sarah Smithies.
