Governor Blunt says he expects new dam regulations from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources by Wednesday.

The collapse of the Taum Sauk dam in southeast Missouri in mid December prompted the Governor to ask the department to examine dam safety in the state.

He explained Tuesday what he hopes to learn from the department.

"We want to ensure that we take everything we did to see if there's something we should have noticed beforehand and also see if any of the lessons learned from the Taum Sauk disaster could be applied to other damns in our state."

A spokesperson for the Department of Natural Resources declined to specify what the report will contain.
