Democratic Representative Wes Shoemyer says MOHELA does not have the power to give their assets to the legislature to appropriate for other functions. But Republican Representative Allen Icet disagrees with his interpretation.

Contents: "Well, the section he's referring to, it says that we as the appropriators, as a legislature, can't direct and appropriate MOHELA's money, and I would certainly agree with that. But I think he's extrapolating that to say not only can we not do that, the MOHELA board can't do that either which is clearly wrong."

Icet says MOHELA is free to use their assets as they see fit. From Jefferson City, I'm Josh Kranzberg.

Shoemyer says the MOHELA board hasn't even testified at all to the House during this process. From Jefferson City, I'm Josh Kranzberg.
