One Missouri lawmaker wants to give more money to stem cell research. Josh Kranzberg has more from the state Capitol.

Republican Senator Matt Bartle is proposing a bill that would take money from the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement and put it into stem cell research. 75 percent of the money would fund projects involving non-embryonic sources. Bartle says the money will be put to good use.

Contents: "Our bill is an attempt to use that money for the purpose for which it was intended when there was a settlement, and that's to incent businesses, to incent researchers in the state of Missouri that are working on adult stem cell therapies."

Bartle says because these are adult stem cells and are not taken from embryos, the bill will face little opposition. From Jefferson City, I'm Josh Kranzberg.
