Legislators decline to speak on indictment

Intro: The day after news broke that Republican John Bowman is being federally indicted for credit fraud, fellow members of the House Budget Committee and black caucus members declined to speak on the matter.

Most legislators declined to discuss the details of Bowman's case because they say it's too new or really none of their business. 
 
House rules allow Bowman to continue in the House and to continue on the powerful Budget Committee while indicted on the federal charges.
 
A fellow Democrat and Budget Committee member, Judy Baker, predicted Bowman would stay on the committee:

Description: I think so. I think he'll just keep up his duties here because what happened is in his personal life and should not affect what he does up here.
 
Bowman was absent from the Capitol Tuesday and could not be reached for comment.
 
But Baker predicted the indictment wouldn't influence Bowman's work in Jefferson City.
