Missouri Senate holds moment of silence for Virginia Tech victims.

Intro: Following the shooting of students at the Virginia Tech campus, the Missouri Senate held a moment of silence and prayer for the families and victims of the Tragedy.

Amy Becker has more from the state Capitol.

President Pro Tem Michael Gibons brought the shooting to the Senate's attention.

Description: But obviously it is a horrific tragedy, I thought perhaps Mr. President you might lead us in a moment prayerful silence as we offer our prayers in this terrible event.

The Senate followed Senator Gibbons motion with prayer and a moment of silence.

President Pro Tem Senator Michael Gibbons asked the Senate on MOnday, to take a moment of silence and for the President to say a prayer for the victims and families of the Virginia Tech Shooting.

Description: Father we're grateful for you today, that we can come to you in time of need and we think of this tragedy we just heard of, we pray you will administer to those who are hurting, the families of those who are deceased, Lord we pray you are there in this time of tragedy.  You know why these things come, we don't understand it, but we pray you would help each one involved and may we continue our concern Lord and do whatever we can to be helpful and help us in America that we be less violent and serve you better we pray and give your name to praise.  Amen.
