The house gave first round approval to a bill that would not require adults to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle.

The current helmet status of Missouri requires every motorcyclist to wear a helmet at all times.

The bill sponsored by Republican Representative Gary Dusenberg would make that law for only persons under the age of 21.

Republican Representative Rob Schaaf opposes the bill saying this change would kill more Americans and leave Missourians paying for the injured.

Description: But it doesn't only affect them.It affects all of us because it costs us and its going to cause an awful lot of grief.

If passed into law the measure would take effect late August of this year.
