For the first time since 2000, the Missouri Association of School Administrators has endorsed a candidate for Missouri Governor. Roger Kurtz, executive director of MASA said the decision came to endorse Attorney General Jay Nixon after discussing education with both Nixon and Congressman Kenny Hulshof.

Actuality:  KURTZ3.WAV
Run Time: 00:17
Description: We talked about issues and their vision for Missouri education. We shared those interviews with our entire membership and then invited our members to voice their opinion on whether to endorse Jay Nixon, Kenny Hulshof, or not make any endorsement whatsoever.

With it's current system, six of the eight district must reach an agreement about who to endorse. In 2004, the association could not reach an agreement and in 2000, the group endorsed Senator Jim Talent. Reporting from the State Capitol, I'm Abigail Grimmett.
