The issue came before the Senate Business Committee on Tuesday to repeal the automatic increase in minimum wage.

Republican Senator John Loudon is sponsoring the bill and expressed importance of aligning state and federal minimum wages.

Description: "The indexing on minimum wage has been the killer on this bill for certain political considerations in the house. We're just not going to get the bill through and help all these people unless we can get some agreement on indexing for inflation."

Currently, minimum wage goes up or down every year according to inflation.
