Rod Jetton gives final speech as Speaker of the House

Intro: Tears were Shed in the Missouri House today by non other than Speaker of the House and ex-Marine Rod Jetton.

Marble Hill Representative Rod Jetton ended his term as Speaker of the House Wednesday with a tearful goodbye speech.

Jetton said he tried to bring both parties together during his time as Speaker. He says the ability to make laws depends largely on mutual respect between the minority and majority parties.

Missouri Democratic spokesman Jack Cardetti disagreed and said that Jetton had no part in creating a more bi-partisan legislature.

Marble Hill Representative Rod Jetton gave his last speech Wednesday as Speaker of the House. Jetton said that one of his top priorites while Speaker was to create a more bi-partisan environment in the legislature to bring the majority and minority together. Missouri Democratic spokesman Jack Cardetti disagreed. Cardetti said that Jetton's agenda was to help himself and not the people of Missouri.
