Cool temperatures make fall come early

Intro:  The recent rain in Missouri isn't making the leaves change color, but the cool temperatures are. So take the kids out and enjoy the leaves sooner rather than later this autumn.

Wrap:Fall is coming early this year in Missouri according to a forestry expert.

University of Missouri Professor Steve Pallardy (PAL-ER-DEE) says the cool temperatures have caused leaves to change color earlier than usual this year.

Description: "We have the conditions now where we are getting the cool temperatures, but it has been a little cloudy the last few days. If the sun comes out some more we will find that the reds and the purples are developing very well."

Owner of Thierbach (TEAR-BACH)fruit Orchard in eastern Missouri Susie Thierbach (TEAR-BACH) says she noticed the leaves changing color as well.
