Missouri pays a pretty penny to treat sexual predators, and the state foots the bill whether or not they accept the help.

The daily rate at the Missouri Sexual Offender Treatment Center, or MOSOTC(MO-SOT-SEE) is 150 dollars a day, but Joe Parks from the Department of Mental Health says county jails can do the same for less than half that price.

Description: "They don't take advantage of the treatment, often on advice of attorneys, so they're just there with not much to do, and they tend to have more arguments and fights. And there's treatment available that's not being used which is expensive."

Senator Jim Lembke is sponsoring the bill that will keep those refusing treatment in county jails until their trail date, and save tax payers more than 60 thousand dollars a year.
