Wrap:Senator Stouffer who's running for U.S. Congress, says he wants Congress to continue supporting the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in a press conference on Thursday morning.

This was a response to President Obama's plea to repeal the act during his State of the Union address on Wednesday.

Stouffer says the request for change has come at the wrong time.

Wrap: Republican Senator Bill Stouffer said he doesn't agree with President Obama's request for Congress to repeal the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law.

Former Marine Colonel Jack Jackson agreed that now is not the time for change.

Actuality:  JACKSON1.WAV
Run Time:  00:14
Description: "So to place social issues or other issues on the table in front of someone who's going off to war is the wrong thing to do. Leave it in place. Don't ask, don't tell. It's working. Let's focus on winning this war on terror."

Stouffer says the law should not be repealed while soldiers are in harm's way.
