Wrap: Just hours after one of the top police lobbyists told us he thought local control would be brought up during a special session, we found out his prediction was spot on.

Governor Nixon`s office announced late Monday afternoon a special session will begin on September 6th.

One of the issues will include local control for St. Louis police.

Jeff Roorda, Business Manager for the St. Louis Police Association said they hope the bill doesn't get bogged down like it did during the regular session.

Description: "The legislature is predictably unpredictable, so it's hard to fortell what the special session might bring."

Roorda went on to say currently there's a broad consensus on this issue and hopefully that will continue and the bill will be allowed to advance.

Reporting from the State Capitol, I'm Andrew Weil.
