House Speaker Drops Out of Missouri Lieutenant Governor Race

The speaker of Missouri's House will no longer seek to be the next Lieutenant Governor of the state. Citing family reasons, Republican Steve Tilley suddently dropped out of the race Thursday.

Wrap: The 40-year-old Tilley says he has no plans to run for public office again, but will finish his term as speaker of the house, which ends next year.

Description: "It was personal decision. I didn't have the fire in the belly that I wanted to. It's been a decision I've been struggling with for about five months."

Tilley says he wants to spend more time with his daughters who are 15 and 17.

It still isn't known what he will do with the nearly 600-thousand dollars he's collected for his campaign.
