Wrap: State Treasurer Clint Zweifel is hosting an auction at a Columbia hotel.

He says his administration is auctioning unclaimed items, ranging from coins and jewelry to a baseball autographed by Cardinals' player Ozzie Smith.

Actuality:  ZWEIF9.WAV
Run Time:  00:06
Description: "These items are specifically collected from safe deposit boxes after five years of no contact with the owners."

Zweifel said he expects the auction to bring in more than 100 thousand dollars.

He says Missourians can also claim their property on Zweifel's website.

Wrap: The auction begins at 9 A-M at a Columbia hotel.

People can bid on items from thousands of unclaimed safe deposit boxes.

Items range from jewelry and coins to a photo and baseball autographed by former Cardinals player Ozzie Smith.

State Treasurer Clint Zweifel says the auction not only empties excess safe deposit boxes, but helps owners get their property back.

Actuality:  ZWEIF10.WAV
Run Time:  00:13
Description: "One in ten Missourians has unclaimed property...the average claim is $300. So this auction, while it represents a small percentage of the total amount we hold, its an important piece in making sure that we get property back to Missourians."

Zweifel said he expects this year's auction to bring in more than 100-thousand dollars.

Wrap: State Treasurer Clint Zweifel said he expects more than 200 people to show up to bid on unclaimed items ranging from jewelry and coins to a baseball autographed by Cardinals' player Ozzie Smith.

The auction will be held at a Columbia hotel, and Zweifel expects this auction to bring in more money than last year.

Actuality:  ZWEIF8.WAV
Run Time:  00:11
Description: "Last year was $105,000. Now the price of gold has increased over the last year, so we expect it to be higher. But that's based on historical numbers."
Missourians can still claim their unclaimed property on Zweifel's website.
