Date: April 14, 2014

State Capitol Bureau

Intro:
Planned Parenthood urged a Senate committe to reject a house-passed measure to triple the waiting period on abortions.
RunTime:  0:35
OutCue:  SOC

Wrap: Ryan Summerford is a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Advocates in Missouri.

She says the measure-- which would extend the waiting period from one to three days-- does not adequately address the issue of abortions.

Actuality:  BABY.WAV
Run Time:  00:15
Description: We should be instead of shaming women for their choices, we should be supporting them by providing them with sex education and contraception services. Which 90 percent of what planned parenthood does is um... preventative services.

The judiciary committee made no immediate action regarding the bill.

Reporting from the state Capitol, I'm Hanna Battah.
