Wrap: Hours after the announcement of Spence Jackson's death interim media coordinator David Luther spoke with reporters in his office only to say that a press release would soon be available.

The release had a statement from Missouri Auditor John Watson expressing his condolences for the Jackson family.

In the statement Watson wrote Jackson was a long-time servant in state government and the Auditor's office will continue during this difficult time.

Reporters also tried to speak with the Auditor Administrative Director Patricia Vincent who referred questions to Luther who referred only to the short written statement from Watson.
