Wrap: Republican Senator Kurt Schaefer of Columbia proposed a bill that would not allow Governor Jay Nixon to become the president of the University of Missouri.

The bill would prohibit members of the UM system from voting for the person that appointed them to that position.

Democratic Senator Jason Holsman of Jackson County said the bill may disallow the most qualified candidate from being hired.

Description: "I think that this is walking down a very slippery slope of interjecting government into a decision on who's most qualified for a position regardless of past position that they held."
