A House committee sent to the full House a bill banning lobbyist contributions and gifts to lawmakers.

Jeanette Mott Oxford, the executive director of Empower Missouri, said the bill will improve the legislature's image.

Missouri is the only state in the union to allow unlimited lobbyist spending on contributions and gifts to individual public officials.
