Kansas City Republican Senator Ryan Silvey argued that Planned Parenthood's refusal to produce the requested documents should potentially put the group in contempt of the Senate.

Senate Democrats said Planned Parenthood provided a response to the Senate within the time alloted to them in the subpoena.

St. Louis County Democratic Senator Jill Schupp said she it might not even be legal for the Senate to subpoena a private institution like Planned Parenthood.

Schupp said the Senate is overstepping its bounds in forcing Kogut to come in and testify.

Republican senators said the group's refusal to produce the requested documents should potentially put the group in contempt of the Senate.
