* SS HCS HB 1194
Sponsor: Chipman, Jason
Status: BECAME LAW
Description: Nullify any minimum wage requirement adopted by a local covered prior to August 28, 2015. Effectively would stop St. Louis minimum wage ordinance that was upheld by the Mo. Supreme Court Feb. 28, 2017. Current law, passed in 2015, prohibits cities from imposing a minimum wage higher than state or federal law, but exempted cities that already had passed a minimum wage. • Note: The descriptions of bills, amendments and roll-call votes are written by MDN journalists. MDN's database may not include committee assignments of bills made on the last day of the session since it is too late for the committee to act on the bill and, thus, the delayed assignment has no practical effect.
