Lt. Governor will not run again

Lieutenant Governor Roger Wilson says he's not running for re-election because he's sick of partisan bickering in Jefferson City. But as KBIA's Lee McGuire reports from the state capitol, that may be a symptom of Missouri's changing balance of power.

St. Charles republican senator Steve Ehlmann says state government may indeed be becoming more partisan.

But, he says, that's because Republicans have come closer to a majority in recent years than they have in decades.

There are 85 Democrats, and 76 Republicans in the House, but the party margin is smaller in the Senate, where there are 18 Democrats, and 16 Republicans. It's the Lieutenant Governor's job to break a tie. In Jefferson City, Lee McGuire, KMOX News.
