House Republicans passed an education budget today (Tuesday) that they say does what the Governor wants without raising taxes.

Even though the budget proposal goes beyond the amount Democratic governor Bob Holden recommended, some Democratic lawmakers say it isn't enough money for Missouri schools.
But, House Budget Chairman Carl Bearden says they are just playing politics.
The bill passed the House one-hundred-and-one to thirtynine. It must gain approval from the Senate before going to the Governor.
