The Senate bill letting cops pull you over tickets for not wearing a seat belt was sent back to the drawing board Tuesday.
Zack Ottenstein has the story from Jefferson City.
Senators offered 17 amendments to the bill, and despite Sen. Jon Dolan's continuous efforts to avoid creating a legislative freight train, the measure picked up too many issues and was sent back to committee.
Dolan said the back breaker was the final amendment offered by Sen. Mary Bland which involved the sticky issue of racial profiling.
The bill also increases the fine for not wearing a seat belt from 10 to 15 dollars.
From the state Capitol, I'm Zack Ottenstein.
