Sen. Rob Mayer says he hasn't used Rod Jetton's consulting firm for a long time

Wrap: Dexter Senator Rob Mayer was listed as a client on the Rod Jetton and Associates website before it shutdown sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

The same Rod Jetton who turned himself in Monday night on charges of assault on a woman.

Now Senator Rob Mayer says he stopped using Jetton's services almost a year ago.

Mayer also said he had asked Jetton numerous times to take his name off the consulting firm's website.

Those requests came long before he was charged with assault.

Jetton turned himself in to the Cole County Sherriff late Monday night on assault charges.

Mayer says he even asked Jetton repeatedly to take his name down from his website.

The website was taken offline some time Tuesday morning.

Jetton's lawyer announced he will close his firm and no longer work in politics.
