Wrap: That's according to Rod Jetton's lawyer.
The former Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives turned himself in to the Cole County Sheriff Monday night to face assault charges.
Jetton will close his consulting firm which he's run since he was term limited following the 2008 legislative session.
His firm worked for some high profile Missouri lawmakers: Senate Appropriations Chair Rob Mayer and House Majority Floor Leader Steven Tilley - both republicans.
Mayer said he was shocked and disappointed when he heard about Jetton.
