The idea to treat both partners if only one is there comes from a Camdenton physician who is the bill sponsor.

Republican Bob Cooper joked the pill form to treat gonorrhea and chlamydia is much like the common cold's Z-PAC.

But there is a serious component...if a partner is too embarrassed to come to the doctor, both could still be treated.

The Department of Health and Senior Services reports Missouri has the sixteenth highest chlamydia rate in the nation.
