Wrap: The questions came after Governor Jay Nixon abandoned a trade trip to Taiwan that's worth $600 million to Missouri.

Late Friday, Nixon's office issued a one-sentence statement -- no trip for now because of "travel challenges."

Nixon walked away twice in the past two days without taking questions.

Spokesman Scott Holste is tight-lipped, too.

Description: HOLSTE: "We're not commenting. We put out a statement Friday afternoon; that's the extent of what we're going to say."

KEITH: "Travel challenges --"

HOLSTE: "Sorry guys, I've gotta go, but we're not saying anything more."

Reports suggest there's more.

That supporters of a Chinese trade hub at Lambert Airport sent a letter to Nixon telling him not to go because the Chinese would be angry.

The two countries have a longtime fued over Taiwanese independence.
