Chairman of Missouri's Senate Education Committee Sponsors Bill Changing a Supreme Court Decision on Unaccredited Schools

Fear of fuller classrooms is one of the reasons for R. Senator David Pearce to sponsor a bill not permitting all students from unaccredited schools to transfer school districts. Becky May has more from Jefferson City.

Wrap:The chair of Missouri's Senate Education Committee is proposing legislation that would enable St. Louis county schools to reject students from the city.

The measure is in response to a state supreme court decision which stated that students from an unaccredited school like St. Louis City have the right to attend any other public school in the state that they want.

General Council for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Mark Van Zandt says there needs to be some constraint.
