Wrap: Statewide elected officials could take a budget cut after Wednesday's House Approprations Committee meeting.

Republican Representative Jay Barnes supports the bill. He says over twelve hundred state employees have been layed off and Government officials should share the burden.

Description: I think it's only fair that our state-wide elected officials, both republican and democrat, have some budget cuts of their own.

Democratic Representative Steve Webb opposes the bill. He says the bill fails to outline exactly what these officials are to cut.

The bill will come before the House Budget Committee before being sent to the House.

The governor's office failed to provide the House Appropriations Committee with the information on the Governor's travel expenses promised to them last week.

Wrap: After being questioned about Governor Nixon's extensive travel expenses, The governor's office promised to provide the House Appropriations Committee with more information about his past flights.

However, at Wednesday's meeting, over a week later, the committee was still waiting on the information.  

Committee Chair Republican Mark Parkinson said the governor's office failed to give them any information or amounts spent on travel.

The House Committee moved forward with a bill that would cut state-wide official's budget by five percent. 

Cuts do not directly address the issue of the Governor's travel.

The bill will go before the House Budget Committee before going to the House.

Wrap: The House Appropration's Committee asked the Governor's office to provide documentation of Govenor Nixon's past flights.

The information was promised to be given to the committee however, a week later, there is still no information.  

The chairman of the committee, Republican Representative Mark Parkinson, said the office failed to give them the amounts that was spent on travel.

The committee moved forward with a bill that will cut state-wide official's funding by 5 percent. The governor's travel expenses were not directly addressed in the bill.
