Donna Turk says she is upset because her county will get cut up.

That's because Missouri's population didn't grow as quickly as other states.

As a result, it's losing a congressional seat, which requires a change of district lines around the state.

Those include the lines around Kansas City in Jackson County, where Turk lives.

Wrap: A House committee passed plans for redrawing congressional district lines, after census results forced Missouri to lose a seat.

The plan makes changes to where the lines are drawn.

One of the places it affects is Jefferson County, a suburb of St. Louis.

The county is currently entirely in the third district, held by Russ Carnahan.

But the proposed change would get rid of the district and divide the county between three others.

Jefferson County Executive Ken Waller says he was unsure of the plan at first.
