Wrap: Republican Representative Scott Largent announced his candidacy for the Missouri Senate in the thirty-first District in 2012.
The new thirty-first district is made up of parts of Jackson County and rural counties outside of Kansas City.
Largent says working in the Senate became a possibility as the result of the newly released redistricting maps in Missouri.

Because of the new maps, there is no incumbent candidate entering the 2012 election.
