A bill allowing incarcerated mothers to see their children was passed through committee to the House.

The bill would provide children easier access to their mothers in prison.

Transportation would be provided to prisons in Vandalia and Chillicothe during the two year pilot program.

The bill now heads to the House for perfection.

Schoolchildren could now be reading advertisements in addition to schoolbooks on their morning ride.

Wrap: The House Urban Issues Committee talked about a bill that would plaster advertisements on the side of public school buses.

Republican Representative Mike Kelley sponsors the bill.  He says it gives school districts options.

Description: This is a real simple bill. 1273 is just giving local control to school districts to do advertising with state limitations on buses.

Kelley says similar legislation has been passed in several other states.

One school district earned around five hundred thousand dollars over a four year period through the advertisements.
