A bill requiring Missourians to take driver's exams only in English has been given preliminary approval by the House.

Missouri currently provides the tests in 12 languages.

Democratic Representative Sylvester Taylor from St. Louis County voiced his disappointment with the Department of Revenue.

The House gave the bill preliminary approval with a vote of 91 to 59.  It will still need to be third read and passed before moving to the Senate.
