Actuality:  ENGLER8.WAV
Run Time:  00:15
Description: "You can't help stupid. He keeps talking about special interest groups, yes it is, it is the emergency room doctors, the Missouri Doctor's Association, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, the pharmacists, they all understand that prescription drugs are being abused."

Those were the words of Senator Kevin Engler of Saint Francois to Senator Rob Schaaf, who filibustered Engler's Prescription Drug Monitoring bill.

The legislation would establish a on-line database that would track controlled substances being prescribed in Missouri.

Engler says the bill would prevent "doctor-shopping" but Schaaf says the legislation will rob Missourians of their privacy.

Actuality:  SCHAAF88.WAV
Run Time:  00:04
Description: "Today is a great day to stand up for the liberty of our constituents, isn't it?"

To date, 48 states have adopted prescription drug monitoring programs.
