Date: October 31, 2012

State Capitol Bureau

Intro:
On the same day that Gubernatorial candidate Dave Spence accused Nixon's administration of spending state money on the failed Mamtek artificial sweetener factory...Nixon is fighting back.

OutCue:  SOC

Wrap: Only a few hours after Spence's comments, Nixon says his administration gave no money to the failed project...but he didn't stop there.

He called out Spence for his role as a board member with Saint Louis-based Reliance bank.

Actuality:  NIXON7.WAV
Run Time:  00:10
Description: "He had a choice whether or not to pay the taxpayers back, he voted no, not to pay the taxpayers back instead to give $40 million worth of insider loans to he and other directors."

But on his website Spence says Nixon's claim is misleading because the board voted to delay payment back to the government AFTER being advised by federal regulators.

Intro:
With less than a week before voters head to the polls, Gubernatorial candidate Dave Spence says he wants Governor Nixon to apologize for Moberly's failed Mamtek plant.

Wrap:

Actuality:  SPENCE3.WAV
Run Time:  00:08
Description: "You notice Jay Nixon was no where to be found when this project failed, but he sure was quickly up here to get a photo-op...and that's not management, that's political opportunist.

That was Gubernatorial candidate Dave Spence speaking at the site of the failed Mamtek artificial sweetener factory...a project he says is indicative of the Nixon administration...a lot of show and no go...

But only a few hours later, Nixon fought back saying the state gave no money to the project and quickly changed the subject to Spence's record as a board member with Saint Louis-based Reliance Bank.
