Wrap: The Missouri Highway Patrol superintendent says their old plane has maintenance problems and one plane is not enough for necessary traveling.

St. Louis Democratic Representative Genise Montecillo still questioned how the plane was justified for it's hourly cost of $900.

Another representative says taxpayers will wonder what's going on in Jeff City and will question why they bought what he called the "Cadillac model" of an airplane.

The Highway Patrol lead says the plane came out of their budget for patrol cars and will be used to service Missouri for many years to come.

Wrap: Lee's Summit Republican Representative Jeff Grisamore says not notifying the General Assembly of the purchase of a brand new plane is a little unusual.

Wrap: The Missouri Highway Patrol superintendent says they had to buy the plane quickly because it was a year-old model discounted only if they bought it prior to the end of the year.

After the explanation, Kirkwood Republican Representative and Budget Chair Rick Stream still questioned the urgency of the purchase.

Colonel Ronald Replogle says he signed the paperwork which went through the Department of Public Safety to then be approved by the Office of Administration.

The Missouri Senate has delayed the confirmation of the Office of Administration Commissioner.
