State Auditor's office to go ahead with requested audit of St. Louis City Recorder of Deeds office

Two months after the St. Louis City Recorder of Deeds resigned, the State Auditor's office says it will look into the office's finances.

Wrap: Former St. Louis City Recorder of Deeds Sharon Carpenter resigned her office in July after she admitted to hiring a relative, which is a violation of the state's nepotism law.

St. Louis City Democratic Senator Jamilah Nasheed has also accused her of not handling preservation fees properly and using a city-owned vehicle for personal use.
